03/10/2012: Reborn #creative366project on Flickr.
A couple of days after the day when that great earthquake hit, I shot Sanshuyu (Cornus officinalis) flowers: bit.ly/y44vz3. I was devastated by the repeatedly broadcast news on the earthquake, so I needed to breathe the fresh air. I tuned of the TV, went to the park nearby, and saw them starting to bloom. One year has past since then. I went to see those flower again. At first I focused on the water drops on the branches on the foreground, but soon found out that they looked nicer this way. What do you think?

02/29/2012: Snow in Tokyo #creative366project on Flickr.
We had snow on the leap day of 2012. I hated to walk to the station on a crutch in the morning, but I forgot about that once I held a camera. The crutch was in my left arm, an umbrella in my left hand. the camera my right hand … I squeeze the focus ring of the lens with my left hand that was holding the umbrella … Complicated.

02/17/2012: Camellia #creative366project on Flickr.
I had a walk in the evening. The air was very chilly, but the sunlight was very warm. I took a different route for the first time on the way to the nearby park. Halfway there, I saw a little camellia tree. The direct sunlight was illuminating one of the flowers. It was beautiful. I tried to capture it but realized I had a 7-14mm on my camera. I changed it to a 50mm, but it didn’t get close enough. I changed the lens again to a 85mm. The direct sunlight had gone by this time, but the pink flower looks even better without it. I was so satisfied that I didn’t shoot any photo later in the walk, fully enjoying the view of the town full of morning sunlight with my bare eyes, not through the view finder.

It took 40 minutes to get to Roppongi Hills from the hospital. The time may have been doubled when walking on a crutch. When I got to the Keyaki Zaka (Zelkova Slope) running through Roppongi Hills, I was exhausted and took a seat on a bench on the sidewalk. This is the view from there. The taxi stopped beyond the bench added those yellow lights, which I thought were rather a nice addition to the image.

01/20/2012: The First Snow in Tokyo #creative366project on Flickr.
On January 20, we had snow for the first time this winter. The snow didn’t cover the ground after all but it was nice just to see it falling.

I had gone down to the first floor of the hospital many times, but this was the first time I went there with my camera. The next step is to visit the outside of the building.

Everyone loves to see Mt. Fuji at dusk.

I like how one of the buildings of Hiroo Garden Place, which is next to the hospital, is visible from the windows at one end of the hallway.
01/09/2012: I Saw the Full Moon. Yay! #creative366project on Flickr.
I was able to see the full moon this evening. I had to go all the way to the other end of the hallway on the floor, open the shade of the windows, and waited for the moon to rise. I was so happy just to see it :)
