Early Blossoming Cherry on Flickr. There is a beautiful early-blossoming cherry tree in Saigoyama Park in Meguro Ward, Tokyo. I saw it in full bloom on February 27 last year. I visited the park again today, and the flowers were just starting to blooming. They were late more than three weeks because of the cold temperature we had in February.

    03/10/2012: Reborn #creative366project on Flickr.

A couple of days after the day when that great earthquake hit, I shot Sanshuyu (Cornus officinalis) flowers: bit.ly/y44vz3. I was devastated by the repeatedly broadcast news on the earthquake, so I needed to breathe the fresh air. I tuned of the TV, went to the park nearby, and saw them starting to bloom. One year has past since then. I went to see those flower again.

02/29/2012: Snow in Tokyo #creative366project on Flickr. We had snow on the leap day of 2012. I hated to walk to the station on a crutch in the morning, but I forgot about that once I held a camera. The crutch was in my left arm, an umbrella in my left hand. the camera my right hand … I squeeze the focus ring of the lens with my left hand that was holding the umbrella … Complicated.

02/28/2012: Singing Robot at Tokyo Opera City #creative366project on Flickr.I often visit this place and look up at that statue. Until yesterday, I didn’t know it sings a song with its mouth moving. The song sounded sad somehow …

02/27/2012: Cocoon Tower #creative366project on Flickr.I rode on a train with a crutch. I wanted to see if I have no problem in commuting by train. I get off at Shinjuku, and walked around the west side of the station. I always look up this tower building at this spot. I like the reflection of the building on the glass case of the elevator.

02/23/2012: The View of Mori Tower from the Nishi-Azabu Intersection#creative366project on Flickr. The doctor checked the last wound they had long been worrying about, and he decided it was OK enough for me to leave the hospital :)))))) Yay!!!!! So this Sunday, I’ll go home. I’ve been here for 62 days … It is too long.
After the check, I took a happy walk. It was my first stroll in the evening since I got hospitalized. The object seen on the left is a wall of a restaurant. The red light was coming from the cars on the street. The elevated expressway seen on the left is Metropolitan Expressway Route 3 (No. 3) which appears in 1Q84. The building in the distance is the Mori Tower of Roppongi Hills.
If I had a tripod, I would have shot the view differently, but with the Nokton, I liked it this way.

02/17/2012: Camellia #creative366project on Flickr.I had a walk in the evening. The air was very chilly, but the sunlight was very warm. I took a different route for the first time on the way to the nearby park. Halfway there, I saw a little camellia tree. The direct sunlight was illuminating one of the flowers. It was beautiful. I tried to capture it but realized I had a 7-14mm on my camera. I changed it to a 50mm, but it didn’t get close enough. I changed the lens again to a 85mm. The direct sunlight had gone by this time, but the pink flower looks even better without it. I was so satisfied that I didn’t shoot any photo later in the walk, fully enjoying the view of the town full of morning sunlight with my bare eyes, not through the view finder.
