I wanted to shoot a rose in my garden, but suddenly a tiny fellow came in, sat, and posed. All I got is a MF macro lens, so actually I had to wait until the bee sat in the right position. If you are looking at this image on your PC, go to the full-screen mode ;)

Early Blossoming Cherry on Flickr.
There is a beautiful early-blossoming cherry tree in Saigoyama Park in Meguro Ward, Tokyo. I saw it in full bloom on February 27 last year. I visited the park again today, and the flowers were just starting to blooming. They were late more than three weeks because of the cold temperature we had in February.

A couple of days after the day when that great earthquake hit, I shot Sanshuyu (Cornus officinalis) flowers: bit.ly/y44vz3. I was devastated by the repeatedly broadcast news on the earthquake, so I needed to breathe the fresh air. I tuned of the TV, went to the park nearby, and saw them starting to bloom. One year has past since then. I went to see those flower again. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 Lens: Canon Macro Lens New FD 50mm f/3.502/26/2012: New Life #creative366project on Flickr.
I took a walk in the nearby park. Not the one near the hospital, but the one near my home. The lens I brought with me was a macro lens, which I didn’t have at the hospital because I didn’t think I would need it for shooting nurses :p Anyway, these are the bud of field mustard. They were starting to bloom.

02/17/2012: Camellia #creative366project on Flickr.
I had a walk in the evening. The air was very chilly, but the sunlight was very warm. I took a different route for the first time on the way to the nearby park. Halfway there, I saw a little camellia tree. The direct sunlight was illuminating one of the flowers. It was beautiful. I tried to capture it but realized I had a 7-14mm on my camera. I changed it to a 50mm, but it didn’t get close enough. I changed the lens again to a 85mm. The direct sunlight had gone by this time, but the pink flower looks even better without it. I was so satisfied that I didn’t shoot any photo later in the walk, fully enjoying the view of the town full of morning sunlight with my bare eyes, not through the view finder.
02/07/2012: When Rain Prevents You from Taking a Walk #creative366project on Flickr.
It was rainy all day in Tokyo. There was no way of me taking a walk on a crutch carrying a camera and an umbrella. So I stayed indoors all day. Luckily I was given a bouquet by Tomoko, my teammate, so I decided to pick some flowers up from it and played with them near the window. When I tried to shoot these tiny white flowers, I noticed that there were tinier buds under them. I focused on the buds and clicked.
